Spring Roll Recipe
You will need:
Spring roll wrappers
a bowl of hot water
cooked meat and vegetables*
rice noodles, optional
sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce or duck sauce, optional
*Ideas for spring roll stuffing
could be cooked chopped or shredded chicken, cooked chopped pork,
cooked ground hamburger. Chopped lettuce, cabbage, shredded or
chopped finely carrots, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, chopped,
cooked broccoli. This is really dependent on what your family enjoys
and what you have on hand.
To cook rice noodles, boil
water and place noodles in a dish. Pour boiling water over the
noodles and let sit 1-2 minutes. Drain and pull apart.
To prep your spring roll,
place hot water in a bowl. Place spring roll in water for 30
seconds-1 minute. Take out and lay flat on a cutting board or flat
surface. Add ingredients of your choice to center of the spring
roll.
Tuck bottom edge up and then sides, as you would wrap a present.
Roll up and eat!
It is that quick and easy!
Hamburger Carrot Spring Roll
Another favorite combination at our house is ground, cooked
hamburger mixed with chopped finely carrots. Stir in soy sauce and
ginger to taste and add mixture to middle of the spring roll. Serve
with duck sauce!
Rainbow Spring Rolls
Use all types of julienne (cut in long strips) vegetables such as
purple cabbage, carrots, colored peppers, lettuce, cucumbers and
roll in wrappers. Kids will love the colors of these bright colorful
spring rolls.
